WHAT COUNTS: Tell us about KLR. What is your role there?

JACK RENZA: KLR is the largest New England based CPA firm, with over 160 team members, and four offices, including Providence, Newport, Waltham and Boston. As a managing director, I am involved in a variety of client matters, from the more traditional to specialty services including litigation support, mergers and acquisitions, healthcare consulting and firm marketing and development.

WC: What might a typical day at work involve for you?

JR: There is really is no typical day, but more aptly, the daily challenges of dealing with client issues and helping to guide them during this tumultuous economic time has become a priority.

WC: You are very active in the community. What motivates you to be so engaged?

JR: As I say on our website, we are ultimately measured by what we give back, not by what we take. Community service is one of the best ways to share our individual expertise with so many worthy causes. Among others, I am involved in the Community College of Rhode Island, Bryant University, the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce, Rhode Island Hospital and Year Up, as a mentor.

WC: What has been one of the most rewarding moments of your career?

JR: It certainly has been watching KLR and its amazing staff of professionals grow into a successful, multifaceted firm focused on client and team member quality and satisfaction.

WC: What do you hope for the future of your career?

JR: That I can continue to give back, mentor and watch the younger associates and management team blossom into the next generation of leaders in the accounting profession.

WC: What do you enjoy in your spare time?

JR: I am really focused on my family and immensely enjoying my grandson Jack, and anticipating the birth of our next grandchild. At the end of the day, it’s all about family!
