Another Successful Winter Networking Event for RISCPA

Once again, RISCPA’s January 22nd Annual Networking Event was a success with over 500 enthusiastic professionals joining us for an evening of business development at the OMNI Hotel in Providence.

The accounting, financial, legal, academic and political communities of the East Coast were well represented. Professionals from Washington D.C., Manhattan, and across New England were in attendance to help inspire some new relationships and nurture current partnerships.   A special thanks to our sponsors for their wonderful support:

• TD Bank

• Mass Mutual Financial Group Southern NE

• Atlantic Trust
• Bay Coast Bank
• Brooks, Houghton & Company, Inc.
• The Business Development Company
• Endurance Wealth Management
• Freedom National Bank
• GPS Capital Management, LLC.
• INTUIT, QuickBooks
• Santander Bank
And an enormous debt of gratitude to our RISCPA staff members who made the evening possible, including: Denise Jacobson, Susan Breen, Ellen Decataldo, and our volunteer, Greg Harvey. (look in events for photos)

It gives me great pleasure to announce a new milestone for RISCPA.  Atrion Networking Corporation, a Technology Company based in Warwick, RI, with approximately 300 professionals, has joined forces with our Society through a comprehensive collaborative arrangement to create the Atrion Educational Center at RISCPA.

We are delighted to have entered a prestigious partnership with a leading force of the technology field.  Atrion will be providing instructional CBE and CPE classes making our collaborative relationship one that is truly unique.  Please join us in welcoming CEO Tim Hebert and the entire Atrion team!

With CPE season complete, we’d like to thank all of our members for their continued support of our educational programs at RISCPA.

As a reminder, we now offer a wonderful curriculum of online classes through the New York State Society of CPAs.  Online, you will find access to first rate offerings that fulfill your educational requirements.  Access to our online classes through Surgent & McCoy will also continue to be offered throughout the year.

RISCPA is also providing business courses through our newly established Center for Business Education (CBE).  Thus far, we’ve held several courses, the most recent of which was a Business Law course drawing in 20 attendees.  As part of the CBE concept, courses are designed to assist CPAs looking for nontraditional course topics that will, in effect, provide CPE credit.  We are also offering courses in HR compliance, branding, and sales development to the small business market.  Please be on the lookout for these new and interesting classes which will be offered over the next several months!

Until next time, remember, “There’s never been a better time to be a CPA.”
