AICPA Focuses on UAA at Regional Meeting
The Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City served as the backdrop for the AICPA’s Regional Council Meeting on Tuesday, March 19. The RISCPA was well represented. Joining Executive Director Robert A. Mancini, were Samuel Suls, Steve Ursillo, Jr., Ernie Almonte, and Jacquelyn H. Tracy.

It has been both an honor and a pleasure to serve as President of RISCPA for the past twelve months. The year has been fast paced with many goals achieved, but as always, there is more work to do. Over the course of the past year we continually focused on our main mission, to enhance the image of the CPA profession and to aid in the success of our members.
Society Supports Legislation to Fix Tax Reform Oversight
The recent personal income tax reforms enacted by the General Assembly were good news for Rhode Island taxpayers. The reforms dropped the high marginal tax rates of 9.9 percent down to 5.99 percent and replaced itemized deductions with standard deductions.
Working with Numbers
Scott DiChristofero is chief financial officer at one of the state’s largest non-profits, Gateway Healthcare. It is an organization with a $60 million budget and approximately 950 employees. Gateway Healthcare services some 22,000 Rhode Islanders.

The Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants held its Annual Meeting on Wednesday, April 24, at the Providence Marriott on Orms Street, and according to RISCPA Executive Director Robert A. Mancini, it was indeed “a very special evening.”
